Gap Night Overview
Gap nights are nights that remain unbooked due to minimum stay requirements. For example, if a property has a two-night minimum and a guest checks out on Friday with the next guest checking in on Saturday, Friday night would be unbookable. Gap night upsells allow you to send messages to guests on either side of a gap night, offering an extension of stay or an upsell for early check-in or late checkout.
Pre-stay gap night upsells
Pre-stay gap night upsells allow guests to check in a day early when there is a gap night between bookings. These guests can also choose to check in earlier on their arrival day.
In the Upsells
section, locate the Pre-stay Gap Night
accordion and open it.
Toggle the Enable Pre Stay Upsells
switch to enable this feature. Enter the desired number of nights to consider in the Number of Nights to Consider
textbox. Set the timing for the upsell message in the Upsell Timing
textbox. Enter the discount amount in the Discount Amount
textbox.
Customize the upsell message in the Upsell Message
section. Click Save Settings
to apply your changes.
Post-stay gap night upsells
Post-stay gap nights allow you to send a message to guests who booked before the vacant nights. This lets them decide if they want a late check-out or to extend their stay by a day.
In the Upsells
section, locate thePost-stay Gap Night
and open the accordion.
Enable post-stay upsells by toggling the Enable Post Stay Upsells
switch. Enter the number of nights to consider in the Number of Nights to Consider
textbox. Set the timing for the upsell message in the Upsell Timing
textbox. Enter the discount percentage in the Discount Amount
textbox.
Customize the upsell message content in the Upsell Message
section. Click Save Settings
to save your changes.
Configure inquiry follow-ups
Inquiry follow-ups allow you to send messages to guests who previously inquired about a property but did not make a reservation. Using our AI, we can review the conversation, determine that they haven't responded, or moved forward with reserving, and check back with them to encourage making their reservation.
In the Upsells
section, locate and open the Inquiry Follow-Ups
accordion.
Toggle the Enable Inquiry Follow-Ups
switch to enable this feature. Set the desired timing for follow-up messages using the Message Timing
textbox.
Customize your follow-up message in the Follow-Up Message
textbox.
Click Save Settings
to save your changes.
Upcoming Messages
The Upcoming Messages
section exists for Gap Night
and Inquiry Follow-Up
messages. It displays a list of future messages scheduled for guests based on your criteria. You can view or cancel these messages under the Action
section. Use this feature anytime to manage messages for specific guests.
Configurations
In the top right corner of each upsell, you can find a configuration option. By clicking the default dropdown, you can tailor upsells for different properties within your portfolio. Adjust settings based on each property or group of properties in your portfolio.
