Overview

Learn how to manage property visibility and subscriptions by locking and unlocking properties in HostBuddy. Controlling these aspects is important for efficient rental operations and subscription management.

Lock Properties

Use Property Menu

To access the property menu, click the ... icon in the top-right corner of the property card. From the drop-down menu, select Lock Property. This action will change the property to a locked state. On the properties page, locked properties are visually indicated, reducing the unlocked property count in your subscription for the next billing cycle.

Understand Subscription Impact

Locking a property reduces your property's count in the subscription. This means you will be billed for fewer properties in the next cycle. If your subscription count is reduced below the number of unlocked properties, all properties will automatically lock. You will need to manually unlock them from the properties page.

Avoid Locking All Properties

Reducing your subscription count below the number of unlocked properties will lock all properties automatically. Adjust your subscription wisely to prevent disruptions.

Unlock Properties

Follow Unlock Process

To unlock a property in HostBuddy, go to the Properties page. Find the locked property you want to unlock and click on Unlock Property. A confirmation dialog will appear; confirm your choice to proceed. Upon unlocking, the property count in your subscription will increase by one, affecting the next billing cycle.

Manage Subscription Count

To avoid automatic locking of all properties, it's essential to keep your subscription count in sync with your number of unlocked properties. If your subscription count is lower than the number of unlocked properties, all properties will lock automatically, requiring manual unlocking on the properties page. This could disrupt communication schedules and guest interactions.

Here's a tip: regularly review your subscription settings in Stripe. Adjust your subscription count based on current property needs to ensure system stability. If you're planning to reduce the number of active properties, synchronize this by locking properties via the ... menu before altering your subscription. This action will prevent unintentional service disruptions.
