Setting Up Yhangry Private Chef Upsells

A comprehensive guide for property managers to enable automated private chef experience upsells through HostBuddy AI. Takes just a few minutes!

Property Upsell Setup

1) Navigate to the Properties page and select "property setup" for the listing that you would like to offer Yhangry at:

2) Next, navigate to the property upsells page and select + add New Upsell

3) Copy/Paste all of the following information to build the upsell:

  • Enjoy a professional private chef experience right in your rental property. Our partner Yhangry connects you with talented local chefs who bring ingredients, prepare custom menus, serve your meal, and handle all cleanup. Perfect for celebrations, special occasions, or a memorable evening in.

  • Typical Pricing - Varies - Per Guest

  • Recommend Yhangry when guests mention: celebrations (birthdays, anniversaries, honeymoons, special occasions), dining plans (restaurant recommendations, where to eat, dinner ideas), staying in (bad weather, tired, cozy night), group gatherings (family reunions, friends trips, large groups), or unique experiences. Only offer once per reservation. If accepted or declined, do not mention again unless guest specifically asks. Keep the tone casual and helpful—position it as a recommendation, not a sales pitch.

  • If a guest has expressed interest, they can book through Yhangry at: https://yhangry.com/ref/YOURCODE — They handle all payments securely, and you'll receive instant booking confirmation. Pricing varies by chef and menu selection, typically starting around $60 per person.

  • Available year-round based on chef availability in your area. Guests should book at least 48-72 hours in advance for best selection, though last-minute bookings may be possible.

  • No approval needed from property manager. Guests book directly through Yhangry, which handles all chef vetting, scheduling, and payment processing. Chefs are fully insured and background-checked.

4) Copy the Upsell to other properties (click then pen icon when hovering over the upsell tile). Select properties that you would like to offer Yhangry at!

5) Configure General Upsell Settings: To ensure your AI presents Yhangry naturally and avoids sounding "salesy," configure the General Upsell Settings. This is where you define your sales philosophy and approach for all upsells on this property.

  • Upsells should always be offered in the following structure:

    1. If there is any opportunity to present the upsell, start by casually informing them of what the offer is.

    2. If they send a response expressing interest, then send next steps.

    A few ground rules:

    Never send payment requests, links or any next steps until a guest has expressed interest in the initial presentation of the offer.

    When mentioning upsells, always prioritize guest experience over sales. Present options as helpful recommendations, not as sales pitches.

    Always aim to match the guests tone in communication to best align with their preferences in conversation.

    Only mention each upsell once per reservation unless the guest brings it up again.

    If a guest declines, respect their decision and don't push. Focus on how the upsell enhances their stay or solves a problem they've mentioned.

    Keep the tone casual and consultative – as if you're a local friend suggesting something they might enjoy.

    Never use high-pressure language like 'limited time,' 'don't miss out,' or 'act now.' Be mindful that some guests are budget-conscious, so frame upsells as optional enhancements, not must-haves.

6) Copy global settings over to all other Yhangry properties by selecting "Copy to other properties" button in General Upsell Settings.
